My brother in law, Tom, purchased this vehicle in 1970/71.

He had been to look at 1938 Graham Paige for $100.00, for my late father, Arthur, who had seen the car advertised in The Saturday SMH classifieds, and was located at Casula.  Tom bought the Graham Paige but at the same time he spotted the Stude with its nose just pointing out of a shed.

When he asked about the car the guy told him it was for sale too, so Tom bought it for $100.00 with no rego, but it still had the rego plates.  He owned the car for a couple of years living around Mortlake (Sydney) before moving to the Central Coast at Tumbi Umbi, NSW.

Tom was going fishing with a mate one morning when he lost the brakes and crashed on Tumbi Umbi Creek Rd.  The car was partly rebuilt before it was given to me in 1973. The Stude was towed to my house on a car trailer by a 1963 Lark.

Later that year the restoration started, but like usual, all manner of other things got in the road like; work; home; girlfriends; or helping mates.

In 1978 another Starlight coupe body turned up and restoration resumed, then stalled again in 1982 when I bought a Cruiser off Perry. The Cruiser was a 1966 Australian model with Chevy power, going OK and registered.

I had the Coupe at a panel beating shop in Penrith, then to Barry Z's later to recover the car with only half the work complete.

I continued to work on the car, and in the early 1990s the car was painted ready to go back together.

Unfortunately the rebuild again went into limbo mode with work problems and other personal dramas consuming all of my spare time.

It was real blood sweat and tears that went into the restoration of my old car to finally finish it in 1994, then getting it registered in 1995.

Thanks to my late father Arthur, Tom L, Rob S, Perry, Bruce N, Ray and Glory C, Des and Chris S, Noel M, and Scott R, without the support of these people the car would not be on the road today there a lot more people to thank who also helped.

Thank you to all.
Steve.
